Hormones: What is wrong with them?

Hormonal imbalances often begin in a very subtle fashion with such things as early morning fatigue after sleeping all night,  fatigue after meals,  fatigue after work,  fatigue after dealing with kids, and oh yea fatigue after dealing with THEM!!!!!  I really thought that fatigue was just part of getting older, but didn’t know it was really a sign of impending hormonal changes.  Life becomes slow with loss of excitement and all those people in my life become very annoying.  My spouse and kids and co-workers and…. all start to get on my nerves and it must surely be them.  In all seriousness, this may be the beginning of some hormonal imbalances which may lead to isolation, depression, frustration, and a loss of interest in participating in life.  Life doesn’t have to be this way.  Life can be exciting again.  Often this requires finding a physician that will look at hormones from a functional standpoint.  Not one that is looking for disease to put on a claim form, but one that is looking at you and how you function at home, work, school, and in your community.  Doctors like this can be difficult to find, but they are well worth the effort.

If this sounds like you, relax and don’t despair.  Physicians are out there that care about YOU.  I am one of those physicians so feel free to contact us and find out how life can be.

Thyroid: I was told my labs were normal, but I feel bad!

Well just because one test namely TSH is normal doesn’t mean that the thyroid is functioning optimally.  In fact most labs are based on a “normal” range that simply means that is where 95 percent of the population is: between one number and the next.
